When comparing Immersh to the alternatives, it’s important to consider all of the features and the advantages and disadvantages of these platforms. This is obviously not a comprehensive list, but it’s enough to orient Immersh in the space. Let’s consider 4 areas that can make up an online lesson:
- Whether it is lesson based
- Whether it is community driven
- Whether it is interactive
- Whether it contains video
Lesson based

This is a bit obvious, but it’s worth calling out because YouTube is a great learning platform, but it is not necessarily lesson based. There is no way of measuring your skill level or understand where you are in the learning process.
Community driven

Immersh is a community driven platform where instructors are able to upload and craft their own lessons. This allows content to be more decentralized, allowing for a wide range of topics delivered at a high frequency.
Immersh strikes the balance between rigid course structures and a total free for all by utilizing a highly intelligent recommender system, training instructors, and having an approval process in place to ensure a consistently high quality of content between instructors. This provides students with very personalized and relevant learning tracks that save them time, frustration, and money.
Interactive

Interactivity is a core feature of Immersh and we define it as being able to get rapid feedback from the platform that aids in learning and is more advanced than simple questions and answers. Think of interacting with a keyboard for music or writing code that you can execute and see the result of. This allows for students to immediately practice and apply what they have learned, giving them a much more memorable, engaging and fun experience.
Also, when creating interactive lessons, the tools are very easy to use. If you know how to fill out forms online, you are already good to go!

The interesting part about video is how platforms seem to either offer video or offer an interactive experience. Immersh is the only platform that we are aware of that seamlessly offers both and is a major reason why we believe Immersh is the future of learning. It is what ties it all together to create a truly immersive experience that improves lesson retention and increases fun!
